Jackie Houlette

Evidence

Anonymously contributed Evidence 2010 outline added 01-01-2011

The following review was submitted anonymously in September 2012: Jackie Houlette is a straight forward, call it like she sees it, professor. She is a practicing attorney and expects her students to behave like lawyers in a courtroom. She makes you stand when called on and speak loudly because that's how you address a judge. She seems intense, but she's not brutal or mean. Her exam is entirely closed book, not even a rule book. However, the material is fair and she doesn't try to trick you. If you listen to her in class, you have a pretty good idea of what will be on the exam. She uses multiple choice, short answer and essay. She believes that everyone is better at some specific type of question so she puts all of them on the exam so that everyone has a fair chance. There will be some interpretation and some straight regurgitation. The problems in the book are great study tools, and she informs you of that multiple times throughout the semester. I really liked this professor and was glad I chose to enroll in her class over the others.
