Professor Dow assigns 1-2 recent U.S.
Supreme Court decisions every week. Your assignment is to write a weekly
essay on how you feel about the decision that was handed down by the
Court. The paper is one page (no exception) and double-spaced. If he
assigns two cases for reading, you can pick which one to write about. Your
final grade is dependent upon the average of the all of your paper
assignments. Professor Dow did give a Final last semester but it STRONGLY
SUGGESTED that you accept the grade that he gave you for the course. He
does not like to construct final exams--so take the grade. His grading system
is a little weird. A, A/M, M, M/B, B--I never
did figure out what those meant but I knew that M was the middle road. He
makes comments on your paper and it is really up to you to discuss with him why
he gave you a specific grade on a paper and what the comments mean. He
likes class participation especially on the controversial decisions so read the
cases thoroughly.
